Analysis worthy of SNL!

But as seriously, can an old man create a new reality for himself and the nation?

We will see, ‘cause there ain’t no halting history, and murdered children won’t halt the next generation from remembering and reacting; while we mull and moan over our next fearless leader.

Palestine: from the river to the sea…

Agree 100%. The Gaza Big Dock Project is absurd inasmuch as we bankroll and protect the land-stealers while supplly the munitions to destroy the very people we are supposedly rescuing. It is window-dressing and it is of a suit with Biden's entire career. But the speech that launcched it was a 10. LOL !! Thanks for your comments.

Yeah, they're our client state. In theory, we should simply be able to order them to allow sufficient humanitarian aid to be brought in, rather than acting like they're our enemy whose seige we need to break. And, of course, we should have been able to have told them not to commit genocide. But such things aren't possible, due to the political consequences of appearing to be "anti-Israel".

I'm sure you've heard the claim that "Israel is the tail that wags the dog." Given the heavy-handed and overt influence of big-money Zionist operations like AIPAC, CUFI (actually the largest), CPMAJO, and a HOST of prominent individuals, spokes-celebs, and smaller groups ... the claim is not overdrawn. For sheer political and election interference the "evil Pootin" can't hold a candle. One has only to ask: has Biden had the courage to stand up to Israel? Didn't Obama sit back and let Netanyahu insult him to his face? The tail wags the dog, has gotten fat off of the dog's meat, possesses enough nuclear weaponry to single-handedly fry half the world and poison the rest, and now will be neither muzzled nor kenneled. The US has created an untenable situation. This is what we do best. Whether Afghanistant, Viet Nam, Libya, Ukraine, Syria, Guatemala, Chile ... I could go on ... the pattern is all of a suit: the shock doctrine shocks on. Thanks for your comment.

So there has been a sizable decline recently in support for Israel, especially in the 18-34 year age range. I'm guessing it's not yet enough of a decline to have much of an effect on US policy.

I believe it is hard to draw much from these polls. For one thing, the average is actually very flat. Transient ups and downs can be accounted for in the news cycle. Then there's the issue that Hamas has little to do with the PA ... they hate each other. Then one must factor in that the average American is politically and socially ignorant: profoundly so. And even with all that ... Reuters says support for Israel has dropped from 41% to 32%. three-quarters of Democrats and half of Republicans in the same poll supported the idea of a ceasefire.

One thing is for CERTAIN: the Dems generally and the Biden campaign specifically are worried about it and scrambling to spin.

Thanks for your comments.

Good point about the spin.

When you say Gaza and the PA hate each other, you mean Hamas and the PA, right? I assume the average Palestinian in Gaza doesn't hate the average Palestinian in the West Bank. Or do they?

I do think there's a non-negligible chance the mass slaughter in Gaza could result in a significant long-term reduction of US support for Israel. Just the scale of it is difficult to ignore. But time will tell.

Yes you're right. I was typing late last night and it should read Hamas and PA. I'll see if I can edit it. Thanks as always.

Is it possible that what's been happening in Gaza the past few months is starting to change public opinion enough to significantly reduce support in the US for continuing military aid for Israel? I feel like that might be happening, but haven't seen any polls. Going to see if I can find some polling on that.

That's quite humorous, Ken! The "trad-wife" paragraph really made me laugh! Thanks! 😁

Worth noting that tonight -- Sun Mar 10 -- Briahna Joy Gray pointed out that she thought it odd and tone deaf for Biden to start the speech with Ukraine. Truthfully, I thought so, too. The one thing you might say, is that he got the exposure of his foreign policy hairy mole out of the way and behind him quickly. He dared not leave it out.
