"Truth, in every case, is the most reputable victory a man can gain."
Thomas Paine, Pennsylvania Packet, 16 February 1779.
A respected friend sent this striking video link to us yesterday. This post comes with an invitation to you. Just give it a careful listen. CAN YOU FIND ANYTHING UNTRUE IN IT? When we compare Lavrov’s address to the public statements by our own President Biden, Secretary Anthony Blinken, newly minted British PM Keir Starmer, President of the European Commission Ursula Vander Leyen, German Chancellor Olaf Sholz, and others, we find that the latter to be bold, flagrant, and consitent liars in almost every public statement they make. How is it that the West is uniformly led by scoundrels and liars? Where are the truth-tellers? Respond, if you like, to the proposition: by Thomas Paine’s standard, Minister Lavrov has obtained a striking victory.

But how could we discern if he is truthful either? Several of his comments sound sketch. Such as, I know US needs to always be in it to protect the US interest but containing Russia to Russia is important to Europe. The "reckless expansion of NATO..." is up to NATO. They invaded on Crimea in 2014 and US coming in to prepare Ukraine, I see as keeping Russia from expanding. He then calls Ukrainians Neo-Nazi's. That reeks of propaganda. Putin is destroying Ukraine, scorched earth. I think Ukraine could have handled 2014 better, with more inclusivity back from then on but, what do we really know was their worst/best option? How could they know then that it would lead to this annihilation from Putin today. This statesman is Putin's statesman "Hungary's principled position..."?? He talks about the US putting Europe into a "suicidal position" -- only if Russia then decides to KILL them all in all the various economic and physical territorial bombardments. Ok, then, Russia just stop trying to make your entire business plan be to invade one little Ukraine and get back to your worldwide agenda for your oligarchs. We aren't angels and do make egregious mistakes. But, Russia's plan is NOT better and how do we make the case for democracies to stand? Russia is the "negative scenario". He keeps referring to fascist countries as victims. Then he talks about "principles of equality, mutual respect, consensus, mutual compromise"? Putin? Russia's actions? I can't justify listening to any more of it. I'll take my ignorant ass outta here.

Refreshing listening to a statesman rather than a politician!
