Thanks so much for commenting, Doug. Very much appreciated. I suspected this post would get a little flack, so the support is doubly appreciated. ❤️ Progress is always incremental ... and probably ought to be. I have become DEEPLY suspicious of fanatics of whatever stripe.
Love it, thank you from a woman to whom this vote matters. We need men to remember that women's personal freedoms and ownership of our own mind and body are at a critical pivot point right now if the orange menace succeeds in conning too many people into voting for him. How we all come back from this, with the time-warp of cult members that remain, is not going to be easy. It will take time to open hearts that have been fooled. J
Thanks, Jeanette. Really appreciate your comment. I share you concern about the condition of society at the moment ... and miss having you around to chat with !!
I am reluctantly voting for Harris and your explanation is as good as anything I can come up with... better than the old "lesser evils" reasoning... it really comes down to reproductive rights while trying not to dwell on War and Big Pharma...
Christine, thanks for your comment. Understood and appreciated. I'd like to see half the country in thre streets on the wars issue. The college students have tried to lead on this. Now it looks like the Israel lobby and the war-machine are pushing back hard. Think I may have mentioned in another comment that I had one older and dear Jewish friend CONDEMN the post to me privately and ... as usual ... call me an antisemite, blah blah blah. I wouldn't take back one word. If anything, it's not strong enough. The situation is Orwellian. Thanks again for taking a moment to post.
No, RFK is not my sacred cow. His initial position on the Gaza war was appalling.
Indeed, I would have been amazed and perhaps disappointed, as well, if you had agreed. What kind of fun would that be? Of course we live in a world, at least in the west, where disagreeing is considered to be hate speech to be surpressed. Critical thinking and debate is at a very low ebb in the current world.
And you are correct that my work over the last years has only strenghened my concern about the strangle hold the pharmaceutical industry has on medicine and politics in the US and elesewhere.
So, good to hear from you, too. I also won't apologize and let us continue to agree to disagree on various issues.
Thanks, Chris. You are certainly right about the current political and social climate and the SHOCKINGLY low ebb of critical thinking and debate. It's a bit depressing. Others have noted and I can't but agree ... it's almost as if we are in a "New Dark Ages."
I am in agreement on Big Pharms and big everything. But I also know that there are many good people and fine scientists in the medical research community; some are evewn friends and colleagues. :) The love of money rules us all. It may ultimately be the death of us all.
Thanks too, for reminding me of RFKjr's despicable "take" on Israel. I'm sure you can tell from the post that I am crystal clear and uncompromising on this issue. I heard today that the blowhard Erdogan now says that he wants to have a "Great Islamic Alliance" against Israel. Let's see ... I can't quite remember how to spell ... "Armageddon?" "Har-Megadon?" I've always said that Israel OUGHT to remember that their country is only one bomb wide. At the rate the Israeli are fleeing, there may not be many left to resist. I just hope that "pastor" John Hagee is having one of his guided tours of Jerusalem when the flash happens ...
Well, take care, my friend. And thanks again for commenting.
Thanks for your comment. Like I said, I'm no purist. I'm a pragmatist. Oh ... and let me add that I do more to organize and take action against AIPAC and US wars than just shooting off my mouth. Again thanks for your .. .thoughts.
Voting in AIPAC-controlled ‘elections’ is COMPLICITY, and CONDONES not only genocide but EVERYTHING that is wrong with our thoroughly malicious DC cabal and UNDEMOCRATIC govt. Who told you you have to vote? The boob tube? Turn it off. The devil? Geezuz. Do something CONSTRUCTIVE!
I think you're right. There's no chance of stopping the madness unless significant numbers of us stop voting for either of the two parties promoting the madness.
Thanks for commenting as always, John. Best of luck with that strategy. We'll no doubt see how well it works out in the coming and future election cycles.
Best of luck with your strategy, too, Kenneth. As for my strategy, it tells me everything I need to know about Harris & Walz that they've been endorsed by Dick Cheney.

So both Democrats and Republicans are war parties. Given. So both belong to the large corporations, again given. Both were more than content to violate the Bill of Rights to drive Covid vaccination goals. The only one who has tried to drive the pharma and giant ag business out of the control of American politics is Kennedy. And you denigrate him because you believe he is "anti vax." Correct? He was right about environmental pollution harming the population...he was right about the utter corruption across the aisle in Congress...So why? No disrespect to you or your daughter, but by supporting Harris and Walz, you have chosen the lesser of evils...but history clearly demonstrates that the lesser pr evils still delivers evil. Perhaps your feelings about vaccine safety and efficacy have impacted your political judgements?
Good to hear from you, Chris. Thanks for the comment. It would appear that I gored your sacred cow ... or favorite candidate. Obviously I won't apologize. I hope you'd be disappointed if I did. I said 100% nothing about Kennedy's reputed anti-vaxxerism. That's because in my very carefully observed experience, he's all over the damn place on vaccines. I've read him and I've listented to him, pretty intently. I'll turn your argument on you and suggest that perhaps it's YOUR feelings about vaccine safety and efficacy that have impacted your political judgment.
If anyone would have a predisposition to like or want RFKjr in office, c'est moi. I admired both his uncle and his dad; and I hoped the junior would amount to something in this election cycle. He hasn't. He was falling like a lead balloon when he endorsed the orange elephant in a last-ditch effort for federal office. My honest evaluation is that RFKjr is a nutter; 100% crazy. I really think he's unbalanced ... unhinged. Perhaps he's to be pitied, but when you push yourself into the political sphere, it comes at the cost of public scrutiny. I wouldn't trust him with my car. I sure as hell don't trust him with the country or the world. It's that simple. Regarding his ecology activism; he certainly gets credit for past ecology activism, but pretty much everyone admits the air and water are poisoned, so I don't give him huge points for it. I think Pete Seeger is a better exemplar than RFKjr. Richard Nixon signed the EPA, as you'll recall and the Dems have often been positively craven about environmental issues.; so I'll call that a Left/Right wash too.
Absolutely I am chosing the "lesser of two evils." I think that I made that pretty clear. I have no delusions of purity or perfection and I have nothing but contempt for fanaticism of any sort.
Again, thanks for commenting. I don't expect everyone to agree with me. One of my Jewish acquaintances just flamed me privately ... that relationship may be at an end. I hope not, but I'm not backing away from the way things.
Ah-men!
Awe women❣️
Amen

Hey, fair enough.
Appreciate you chiming in, Jim. Thanks.

How could it be that the Democratic Party is the lesser of two evils, when so many prominent neocons have become Democrats in recent years?

In the words of another of my guiding lights:

but we do say, we must first be convinced."
