This is very interesting and honest. It is a matter of historical record that Lincoln did not initially see the abolition of slavery as his primary objective.

If it wasn't for the courage and remarkable writings of Frederick Douglass, Lincoln may never have truly understood the issue.

One of the things that I admire about Lincoln is his willingness to learn and to broaden his mind.

Indeed, my friend. I believe that many if not most people have a tendency to look at historical figures -- in particular, their personal heroes -- as if they believed the same thing throughout their lives; as if sort of frozen in time. In reality, all of the greatest human beings without exception have evolved in their views over time. Thanks much for your comment.
