”He who is the author of a war, lets loose the whole contagion of hell, and opens a vein that bleeds a nation to death.”
Thomas Paine
The Crisis No. V
Did you hear? A resolution was brought before the UN Security Council today that gained over 100 co-sponsors in less that 24 hours and called for an immediate humanitarian cease-fire in Gaza. On the 15-member Security Council, the vote was 13 “yes” and 1 solitary “no,” the veto of the USA. Each of the five “permanent members” of the Security Council — China, France, Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, and the United States — exercises veto-power over any UN resolution. The UK, the other permanent member, abstained — raise the Union Jack, proud Albion. So the USA, in the face of virtually the entire world stood alone and certainly the most powerful force giving cover for Israel in its pursuit of mass slaughter and ethnic cleansing … on our dime.
Make no mistake about it. Ethnic cleansing is being attempted; and could succeed. This conclusion requires no imagination; Israeli officials are saying the ugly part out loud.
“Erase Gaza from the face of the earth. Let the Gazan monsters rush to the southern border and flee into Egypt, or die. And let them die badly. Gaza should be wiped off the map, and fire and brimstone on the heads of the Nazis in Judea and Samaria. Jewish wrath to shake the earth around the world. We need a cruel, vengeful IDF here. Anything less is immoral.”
Galit Distel-Atbaryan - Knesset member for the Likud Party. Former Minister of Information.
Can anyone doubt that this is exactly what IS happening?
“I welcome the initiative of members of Knesset Ram Ben-Barak and Danny Danon on the voluntary immigration of Gaza Arabs to the countries of the world. This is the right humanitarian solution for the residents of Gaza and the entire region.”
[Just like Herr Schicklgruber did to their own ancestors, give ‘em a chance to leave “voluntarily”}
and
“The state of Israel will no longer be able to put up with the existence of an independent entity in Gaza.”
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich
Then there is the Israeli Intelligence Ministry policy paper written Oct. 13, that calls for Gaza citizens to be permanently relocated to the Sinai desert. The suggested plan is to build refugee camps in the Egyptian desert while lobbying support from the greater world, especially guess who ? … U.S. taxpayers.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu puts forward the “nice face” and tells the world that Israel has no interest in Gaza. Don’t believe it. All governments lie; the Israel government lies at the Major League level. The Israeli have already re-started offshore natural gas wells recently discovered in Gaza waters while they flatten Gaza itself from one end to the other and make it ungovernable. Israel states as a matter of policy their goal to exterminate the ruling Hamas government. To date 17,400 people dead in Gaza — 70% of them women and children, that’s 12,180 innocents — more than 46,000 wounded and maimed. Let that sink in. The number will rise tomorrow. And this does not count the many trapped under the wreckage and rubble; suffering or dead. Who do you think paid for the bombs?
Speaing of bombs, what happened to the precision electronic weapons reputed to have “modernized warfare?” I thought that they were going to reduce civilian deaths; killing the bad guys while sparing the innocent. It didn’t work in Iraq, where even the Wilson Institute says civilian fatalities were between 280,000 and 315,000. The UN estimates half a million. Didn’t work in Afghanistan. Didn’t work in Libya. Gosh … is it possible that it could have all been a hype to distract taxpayers while their pockets are emptied and their image dirtied ‘round the world ?
“In reviewing the history of the English Government, its wars and its taxes, a bystander, not blinded by prejudice nor warped by interest, would declare that taxes were not raised to carry on wars, but that wars were raised to carry on taxes.”
Thomas Paine
Rights of Man, pt I, 1791.
No worries. The joyous holiday season is upon us: there will be revelry, feasting, football games, and lots of stuff to buy. Then the triumph of democracy, the reason we fight the forces of darkness the world over: an election. The likely choices will almost certainly be various grades of war-mongers or corporate buccaneers. Citizens are so crazed and desperate for a change that many believe the peace-candidate is the failed casino-owner and Mussolini wannabee. And with the unpopular #Killary an unlikely draftee, the feminist and identity (pardon the expression) dark horses are Kamala “the charming cop” Harris and Nikki “the-war-millionairess” Haley. No wonder many people are buying lotto-ticket odds of a Second Coming.
”That persons who are hunting after places, offices and contracts, should be advocates for war, taxes and extravagance, is not to be wondered at; but that so large a portion of the people who had nothing to depend upon but their industry, and no other public prospect but that of paying taxes, and bearing the burden, should be advocates for the same measures, is a thoughtlessness not easily accounted for. "

To the Citizens of the United States VII, 1802-1806.
Regrettably no single one of us can fix all this. But we can certainly each rise and place a shoulder to the wheel of a juggernaut that can move the world.
”Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death. My own line of reasoning is to myself as straight and clear as a ray of light.”

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night with a final passage from the guiding light of this blog:
"A thousand years hence (for I must indulge in a few thoughts), perhaps in less, America maybe what England now is! The innocence of her character that won the hearts of all nations in her favor may sound like a romance, and her inimitable virtue as if it had never been. The ruins of that liberty which thousands bled for, or suffered to obtain, may just furnish materials for a village tale or extort a sigh from rustic sensibility, while the fashionable of that day, enveloped in dissipation, shall deride the principle and deny the fact.
When we contemplate the fall of empires and the extinction of nations of the ancient world, we see but little to excite our regret than the mouldering ruins of pompous palaces, magnificent monuments, lofty pyramids, and walls and towers of the most costly workmanship. But when the empire of America shall fall, the subject for contemplative sorrow will be infinitely greater than crumbling brass or marble can inspire. It will not then be said, here stood a temple of vast antiquity,-here rose a Babel of invisible height, or there a palace of sumptuous extravagance; but here, ah painful thought! the noblest work of human wisdom, the grandest scene of human glory, the fair cause of freedom rose and fell!”
