Theresa Borrenpohl Fights for the First and Fourth Amendments
This story has grown BIG since first reported here in my previous. Readers can review the original post here (scroll down for rest of this update): :
Woman Assaulted at Idaho Town Hall Meeting ?!!
Here’s a video of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and North Idaho College administrator Dr. Teresa Borrenpohl. It appears she was assaulted by two or three black-shirted and unidentified goons also evidently under the direction of our local “constitutional sheriff” Norris. One of the better videos of the occurrence is posted below. The known facts have been covere…
SO MUCH has happened since the original story broke. For one thing, we’ve gone national and international. The New York Times covered it front page today. Link is at bottom of this page. Let’s see if we can document this as we go.
First, here is the explanation or set of excuses (evasions?) originally issued by the sponsor of the event, chairman of the KCRCC (Kootenai County Repubican Central Committee), Brent Regan:
“KCRCC Town Hall facts and video.
All 450 attendees were twice briefed at the beginning that anyone who refused to respect the rights of others would be removed from the event.
Borrenpohl interrupted the speakers at least 7 times. She was warned at least 3 times. She was asked by the sheriff to leave at least 5 times and finally the licensed and bonded professional security removed her from the venue. She forcibly resisted and bit one of them. She was cited by the Coeur d'Alene police for trespass and battery. Security did fully cooperate with law enforcement.
None of this would have happened if Borrenpohl had been respectful of others. Her failure to follow the simple rules of decorum caused an 18 minute delay in the meeting and reduced the number of questions the legislators had time to answer. Borrenpohl knew the rules but CHOSE to break them to the determent of the rights of all present.
Borrenpohl has a long history of disrupting meetings and was the prime suspect for the pulling of a fire alarm during a North Idaho College board meeting.
The KCRCC has sponsored dozens of Town Halls in the last decade and this is the first time someone needed to be removed for the peace and safety of those in attendance.”
This attempt at deflection was quickly shot down by the actual facts of the case. There was no 18 minute “caused” by Dr. Borrenpohl. Regan’s manner of identifying her is characteristically rude and un-neighborly and it’s an obvious effort to deflect blame. And it is wrong on the facts. For one thing, County Sheriff Bob Norris had zero jurisdiction. Coeur d’Alene High School is in the jurisdiction of the City of Coeur d’Alene.
Next the reply later that same day from Coeur d’Aene City Police Chief Lee White:
Moving right along: The LEAR Security Company has now had their business licence revoked for "violating Coeur d'Alene City ordinances regarding Security Agencies and Agents (City Code 5.32.)"
From the ordinance: "Uniforms worn by security agents must be clearly marked with the word "Security" in letters no less than one inch tall on the front of the uniform, and no less than four inches tall on the back of the uniform." Anyone who has seen the videos will know that they wore no identifying markings whatsoever.
Also: "When it appears that a licensee has violated any provision of this Chapter, any ordinance of the City, or statute of the State or United States involving violence or threat of violence, or a crime of moral turpitude, the license shall be revoked." And it has been.
Feel free to ring up Paul, the owner, and let him know your thoughts.
The original videos clearly shows (see on my earlier post) that Sheriff Norris directed the men from LEAR to seize Ms. Borrenpohl. When queried by the Idaho Statesman Norris claimed that he did not know the security personnel. Meanwhile, it has emerged that Sheriff Norris is collecting “disability” from his previous job in California … supposedly a disabled shoulder … the same shoulder he tried to use to drag Dr. Borrenpohl from her chair. To say the very least, this raises some questions
The L.A. Times News Magazine details much of the situation with Sheriff Norris:

Brent Regan and others have also claimed this was a private event. That claim is demolished by the contract with Coeur d’Alene High School, reproduced here:
Evidently the story made the front page of the New York Time today 2/26/25s:

Newsweek has also reported it:
