Did you watch Biden’s State of the Union ?
I almost always watch them.
If that’s what it took simply to stay in touch and know my subject,
To know the history. That’s what I did.
But since the MSM will relentlessly parrot the speech — along with the mainstream talking points regarding it — over and over again, I really can’t miss it even if I try.
So tonite I listened to a recounting of the Wars Against Yugoslavia or Yugoslav War (1991-2001). Many of you were alive. It was Bill Clinton’s war.
I want to ask you — one citizen to another — do you understand it ? Can you give an accurate, coherent narrative of the Yugoslav Wars ? Listen, I studied it in my grad program, have read deeply on it, and my late and lamented friend and colleague Daniela Naumova was in the thick of it. It’s quite likely that the cancer that killed her came from the depleted uranium weaponry with which the country was dusted every time one of these shells exploded. Remember that ? But even with that background, I’d be hard-pressed to spin off a coherent recounting of the events of that war. So I’m not criticizing you; just stating a fact.
The assumption is that if you’re on this list, you’re a grown-up and you MIGHT even want to discuss some of the echoes with our contemporary experience in Ukraine. To comment, you’ll need to register for a free account; no charge, no catch. Your comments are welcome, but may I ask ? DO NOT insult your fellow readers with the jejeune fallacy that because this was shared with you, THEREFORE, a posteriori, the blogger certainly must agree with every word of Mr. Parenti’s valuable 1999 talk.
