The only real question, or so it appears to me, is whether there will be an open convention or not. If not, Kamala is the anointed successor and her handlers will need to chose a VP candidate SOON. If they go that route, I suspect she will lose the election … badly. Should the powers-that-be (more on that below) opt for an "open" convention, it is important to remember that attendees are all flacks and funtionaries hand-selected by the DNC/DLC. But they can still build drama and give a sense that social media and popular opinion are playing a part in the horse-race and the eventual nominee, Kamala or not. If they make it exciting and dramatic ... get people to identify with the victorious nominee — whether Kamala or not — thenTrump loses. That decision -- open convention or not -- will be made by the DNC/DLC and their donors ... nobody else.
Either way, this ain’t what democracy looks like.
I’m not. The only difference we get with Kamala is this: instead of an old, white male war-machine and economic malaise, we’ll get a sportier, multi-ethnic war-machine, and economic malaise. I hope I’m wrong, but I’m willing to bet money that I’m right. She’s not “with me,” and I’m not “with” her … not even in the slightest.
