History is the keystone discipline. Without it, civilization has neither hope of advance nor success. History encompasses also the thrill of the hunt/research, the puzzle solved, and the satisfaction of the creative struggle and its product. History is comprehensively interrelated. Without the inventors of the alphabet over 4,000 years ago, no historian could put pen to paper and no constitutional government could struggle to exist. And unless everyone is free, no one is free. In that spirit, readers are welcome to submit questions and queries that you’d like to hear discussed or addressed. Just hit the comments link and post your query; none will be missed and all treated with respect; nothing is too trivial or too difficult. And no historical topic out of bounds. Granted, this page focuses on our 18th and 19th century family [of mankind] members - notably Thomas Paine and his followers - who struggled for the intellectual and social freedom that are now assumed in most of society in the West, but by no means yet universal on the earth. Don’t forget that.
”Independence is my happiness, and I view things as they are, without regard to place or person; my country is the world, and my religion is to do good.”
Thomas Paine

So true. Without some basic knowledge of history, the reference point and direction life take you is unclear. One is liable to get influenced and swept up by the masses of ignorance and their prejudice.
"I guess I am just repeating what Howard Zinn so eloquently quoted (lol)."
