For everyone enjoying a holiday today, please don't forget that Fake American Labor Day is a very intentional psyop to erase labor history and suppress class consciousness.
In the rest of the world, they celebrate May Day otherwise known as International Workers Day and alternatively Labor Day. This isn't arbitrary as the date commemorates the Haymarket Massacre and honors the victims. But of course the US couldn't have that and panicked at the idea of celebrating the working class so they immediately (and by immediately I mean literally within less than a year after Haymarket in 1887) proclaimed a different unrelated day for Labor Day specifically to distance the holiday from working class history and suppress class consciousness.
But of course that wasn't enough for the US and in what has to be the most blatant piece of anti-worker propaganda I have ever seen at the same time the US declared Fake Labor Day a national holiday, they branded May 1 "Loyalty Day". Yes this is a real thing, and Biden even tried to bring it back this year. This is even worse because it was literally less than a year after the actual Haymarket Massacre, before anyone else had even formally declared May Day a holiday, the US felt the need to preemptively declare the day that they massacred striking workers to be "Loyalty Day".
So enjoy your day off, but don't forget why it's here.
Remember Haymarket.

Interesting, being from Europe, I had earlier today tried to explain, to my sweetheart, the history of Labor Day. Referenced historicly to the 1887 Chicago massacre, acknowledged and celebrated around the World on May 1st. But made into a holiday in the US, the country and origin of the cause, an early September event👍.
