Let’s be clear first, these talking points are peddled by both Democrats and Republicans. They are UNITED on war. But here is an example of just how completely UNHINGED things have become.
1). Last week: US “intelligence” report states Russia has lost 90% of its military since the so-called “invasion” of Ukraine; over 315,000 combatants, validating Senator Lindsey Graham’s now infamous claim that we’re getting a HUGE amount of “bang” for our tax dollars by letting the Ukrainians doing our killing FOR us.
2). This week: Lindsey Graham today — if we don’t stop the Russian now, they are going to take over Ukraine and then the European domino will fall. Really? Russia is going to conquer all of Europe with 10% of their army?
Second Law of Physics: Two objects cannot occupy the same place at the same time.
Clearly these two talking points cannot exist at once. One must be a lie; or both. Spoiler alert - it’s both.
Tom Paine on the topic:
"When anything is attempted to be supported by lying, it is presumptive evidence that the thing supported is a lie also. The stock on which a lie can be engrafted must be of the same species as the graft."
Thomas Paine -- To the Citizens of the United States, 1802.
What facts, if any, are the basis of that first claim? Is it that 90% of the soldiers originally members of the Russian military when the war started have died in the war? That's what I heard, but not sure that's correct. That could mean it was a true statement, but even if it were, it could easily mislead many people into thinking the Russian military now only has 10% of the soldiers it had when the war started.
Actual intellect is not valued very highly in this country.
